Swope Health Services provides a full array of services for ALL of our patients' health care needs. Our Swope Health Central is a "One-Stop Shop," but we also offer a variety of services at our other clinic locations. We currently offer services for the following health care needs:

Adult Medicine
Program Goal:
Provide excellent general medical care to the community.
Eligibility:
Services provided to all registered Swope Health Services patients 18 years and older.
Services Provided:
- Ear, nose and throat
- Physical examinations for adults
- Preventative health education
- Adult immunizations
- Well-women check-ups (breast exams)
- Well-men check-ups (prostate exams)
- Asthma
- Diabetes
- Heart disease/high blood pressure
- Preventative care
- Arthritis
- Sexually transmitted diseases
- Tuberculosis screenings
- STD screenings

Dental Services
Program Goal:
Provide preventive and routine care to children and adults in an effort to reduce oral disease.
Eligibility:
- Children through adults
- Must be a Swope Health Services registered patient
Services Provided:
- Provides a full range of dental services including:
- Cleaning
- Sealants
- Fillings
- Extractions
- Crowns and dentures
- Oral health education
- A School Screening Program in Clay and Platte County allows dentists and hygienists to go to public schools to provide dental screenings to children who may otherwise not have access to this basic care.

Diabetes Health Literacy Project - Adult Medicine
Program Goal:
Provide knowledge and skills to help individuals with chronic diseases, specifically diabetes, achieve optimal health related outcomes and successfully self-manage their disease.
Eligibility:
Adult individuals with diabetes.
Services Provided:
- Health education classes and counseling.
- Nutrition education classes and counseling.

Obstetrics and Gynecology
Program Goal:
Improve and maintain the health of women during reproductive period and beyond.
Eligibility:
Services provided to all women age 10 and older who are registered as Swope Health Services Patients.
Services Provided:
- Well-woman exams
- Pregnancy testing
- Prenatal and postpartum care
- Minor and major surgical procedures
- Family planning services
- Preventative education and treatment for HIV/AIDS and other STDs
Note: (Major surgical procedures are performed at Truman Medical Center)

Optometry
Program Goal:
Provide primary eye and vision care to individuals of all ages.
Eligibility:
Adults and children, birth through seniors.
Services Provided:
- Review of general health and prescriptions
- Examination of eyes for signs of possible disorders, such as:
- Cataracts or retinal problems
- Eye coordination & muscle control
- To see clearly at all distances
- To focus light rays exactly on the retina from a distance & close-up
- Glaucoma and other diseases
- Discuss test results for understanding of overall eye health and explain eyewear prescriptions
- Specially trained to determine which types of contacts are right ensure the best fit possible
